Speed0meter

Privacy Policy

Effective July 31, 2026

The short version

Speed0meter has no account, ads, or analytics. Your recorded trips and route history stay on your device unless you choose to delete them. The app uses your location to measure speed and record trips you start.

Information the app uses

Speed0meter uses foreground device location, including precise coordinates, speed, heading, altitude, accuracy, and timestamps. This is required to show live driving information and to record a trip when you explicitly start recording. Speed0meter does not request background location access.

On-device storage

Recorded trips, route points, trip statistics, display preferences, recent altitude history, and any background image you choose are stored locally on your device. Speed0meter does not upload your saved trip history to the developer's servers.

Network services

When a route map is visible, the app loads map tiles from OpenStreetMap. The requested map area and your IP address may be visible to the tile service.

On devices with a barometer, Speed0meter may send the current latitude and longitude to the Open-Meteo Elevation API to improve altitude calibration. The app uses this response immediately and does not add it to a developer profile or account.

Sharing, advertising, and analytics

Speed0meter does not sell personal data. It contains no advertising SDK, analytics SDK, account system, or developer-operated tracking backend. Data sent to OpenStreetMap and Open-Meteo is limited to providing the map or elevation feature described above and is governed by those services' privacy practices.

Your choices and deletion

Children

Speed0meter is a driving utility intended for adults and is not directed to children.

This policy may be updated when the app's data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the latest version.
